Christensen Hockey School Skills Program

March 11, 2017

The Kern County Hockey Club (KCHC) would like to alert our members to a local post season hockey skills program. Every year our members are tasked with finding post season options for player development. Often that includes skills camps/programs at far away destinations in California and some members have even been traveling out of state. This year the Christensen Hockey School, operated by Director and Coach Terry Christensen, is bringing his skill program from the Great Lakes State of Michigan to California. Coach Christensen’s skills program will be in Bakersfield, California from June 12 through June 16th.  The program will feature:

 Ten 90 Minute On Ice Sessions

 Power Skating Instruction

 Videotape Analysis of Each Players Skating!

 Development of Stick Handling Skills

 Development of Shooting Skills

 Special Off Ice Conditioning Sessions Each Day

 Introduction of Proper Checking Technique

Coach Christensen has a lengthy resume of coaching and developing hockey players spanning some 30-years. He has applied his trade at a number of NHL Development Camps including the Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, and Columbus Blue Jackets.  During these Camps his primary responsibilities was the evaluation and development of Skating Skills. He is a Member of the (OHL) Ontario Hockey League. His Coaching experience includes Division I College, USA National Jr., Czech National Jr., and Professional Hockey as an Assistant, Head Coach, and Director of Player Personnel.
